Most rental apartments in Tbilisi and Batumi already have an active electricity and water account tied to the unit. Ask your landlord for the account number (or the meter number) — you can pay both through the TBC or Bank of Georgia apps once you have it, no office visit required.
If the apartment is new construction or the account was closed, you'll need to open a new one at a Telasi (electricity) or Georgian Water and Power service point with your rental agreement and passport.
Not every building is on gas — many newer apartments use electric water heaters and stoves instead. If yours is, the process mirrors electricity: existing account transfers with a phone call, a new one needs a service point visit.
Magticom, Silknet, and Caucasus Online all install home fiber within 2-4 days of signing up, usually with a passport as the only requirement — no residence permit needed. Speeds of 100 Mbps+ are standard in cities for under 40 GEL a month.
The paperwork itself is fast. The slow part is usually scheduling the technician visit for a first-time internet install, or waiting for a new electricity meter to be assigned if the apartment never had one.

Many newer buildings skip gas entirely and rely on electric heaters and stoves — check with the landlord before assuming a hookup is needed.
Yes — once you have the account number, both TBC and Bank of Georgia apps let you pay electricity, water, and internet bills without visiting an office.
