What Changed

Current gas and water tariffs stay in force until the GNERC review in December 2026. The electricity tariff changed on 1 April 2026 and will not be reviewed this year.

The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) plans to review natural gas and water supply tariffs at the end of 2026. GNERC chairman Davit Narmania told the business outlet BM.GE about it on 21 October, and Interpressnews and Netgazeti reported his words the same day.

According to Netgazeti, the review will take place in December. Neither outlet reports new figures, and it is not yet known whether the tariffs will go up or down.

What households pay now

Until GNERC makes a decision, the current tariffs apply. The figures below come from GNERC and the Tbilisi water company GWP, and the gas tariffs include VAT.

ServiceSupplier, areaTariff
GasTbilisi Energy, Tbilisi53.971 tetri per m³
GasSOCAR Georgia Gas, regions56.928 tetri per m³
Water with a meterGWP, Tbilisi0.50 ₾ per m³
Water without a meterGWP, Tbilisi4.517 ₾ per person per month

The tariffs form the basis of monthly utility bills in Georgia, which come separately for gas, water and electricity.

Electricity stays the same

The regulator will not review electricity tariffs this year. Narmania explained that the new electricity tariffs were set only a few months ago, and they have applied since 1 April 2026.

Who should take note

The review concerns everyone who rents or owns a home in Georgia and pays for utilities. Homes heated with a gas boiler use the most gas in winter, so any change in the gas tariff would affect the cost of winter heating in Georgia.

Utilities are a regular item in the cost of living in Georgia, along with rent, food and transport. GNERC has announced the review but has not adopted a decision yet, and any new tariffs will be known after the commission decides in December.
